Abstract

This article presents an analysis of the elements and professional criteria in ten political journalistic blogs (j-blogs) integrated into regular reference newspapers’ websites in Brazil and Spain. The objective of the study is to understand the factors relating to the journalistic practice and professional standards as discussed by Kovach and Rosenstiel (2003) in these blogs. This is investigating aspects ranging from the use of an objective method in the verification of the information to the sources consulted. To find them out in the process of content generation of 977 posts, published between 2010 and 2011, we have perform an analysis of web content and interviews with journalists-bloggers. A relevant point of the research is that in j-blogs the sources may be referenced indirectly via a link.
