Autonomia da criança com deficiência: um paralelo entre a infância, a educação e a brincadeira

Abstract

This work discusses the autonomy of the children with disabilities based on their scholar experiences and learning acquired from playing activities. The objective was to understand how the autonomy and the childhood of children with disabilities are reported in academic research. The methodology employed in this paper was a narrative literature review. A relationship between the care and the education given in early childhood was noted as an important factor toward the autonomy of children with disabilities. Then, the care actions are fundamental for the establishment and maintenance of the well-being of these children. Finally, it was observed that playing is an important element for promoting autonomy, and cognitive, communicative, and expressive development in the childhood stage. Play is a fundamental activity in childhood and media development of domains and skills. Thus, all interactions experienced during play are part of a process of development of the child's autonomy. However, research that marks the emotional realm of children with disabilities is emerging and immediate.
