Atuação e perfil dos docentes da rede estadual de Educação Básica do Paraná

Abstract

This article aims to describe some characteristics of teachers of basic education in public education or Paraná, as well as to compare the respective variables between the types of employment bonds, in order to capture differences. Specifically, describe the performance and profile of permanent and temporary teachers. As a complement, the results are compared with federal and Paraná state laws and regulations, and other studies that are consistent with this theme. This is a quantitative research, using the data provided by the Educational Data Laboratory of 2019. In addition to showing other characteristics of the teaching population, the results show an expressive number of temporary staff in the group of the state school teachers. Besides, it seems that the staff are slightly better trained than the temporary staff, although there are challenges related to training in both types of employment bonds, since not all professionals have higher education with a degree, as required by the national educational law. It is also possible to see an unequal allocation between the links, this suggests that the number of temporary workers in the rural area is higher than the number of permanent staff, with municipalities without active staff in schools in this area.
