Abstract

The intellectual joão Roberto Moreira (1912-1967) became a known figure at the national level, when he worked with the main organs of educational research in Brazil, such as Instituto Nacional de Estudos Pedagógicos (INEP) and the Centro Brasileiro de Pesquisas Educacionais (CBPE), in the 1940s and 1950s. The main focus of this work is the analysis of the first work of the intellectual João Roberto Moreira, entitled “”The Ideal Systems of Education”, from 1945, published by the "Brazilian Pedagogical Library", in the series "Pedagogical News". In this book, Moreira would publish his first studies, constructed during the period in which he served as teacher and director of the Normal Course of the Institute of Education of Florianópolis (1937-1943), on the educational scientific field, addressing, mainly, the role of knowledge from Educational Psychology and Sociology for the formation of a "Scientific Pedagogy". Published in the mid-1940s, Moreira's work is situated in an intellectual environment of intense concern with the scientific constitution of the educational field and that would intensify in the 1950s, with the creation, for example, of the Brazilian Center for Educational Research. The analyses that Moreira made in his first book, although incipient and the result of his still introductory studies on the educational scientific field, were paramount to his national projection, demonstrating a scientific rigor that would accredit him to conduct broader studies on national education (DANIEL, 2003). They are used as sources, in addition to the analyzed book itself, letters, brochures, journalistic news, among others.
