A Formação de professores e o trabalho com educação ambiental: reflexões acerca das concepções docentes

Abstract

This research aimed to analyze the conceptual mastery of teachers about environmental issues and how they are developed in the continuing education offered to teachers, allowing to understand what in fact has been hindering the effectiveness of Environmental Education (EE) in the Schools of the Municipal Education Network of Nazaré from Mata-PE. The network's Early Years Elementary School teachers collaborated with the research. As a methodological process, we used a quali-quantitative approach in a descriptive research whose data were collected with semi-structured questionnaires and then submitted to Content Analysis. The results indicate that, although there is a set of legal frameworks that subsidize the insertion of EE in schools, its applicability goes through several mishaps arising from the gaps originated from the initial and continued training of teachers in the different areas of knowledge. The theme became just another function linked to the school and developed through occasional subterfuges on commemorative dates and Science Fairs. It is perceptible, through the teaching conceptions that, re-signification of their conceptions about the theme that, glimpses the perspective of a reform in the thought and consequently revolution in the teaching practices.
