Meninas e meninos nas aulas de Educação Física e na escola nas décadas de 1960 e 1970 em Rio Azul-PR: O que poderia um corpo?

Abstract

This study is part of the results of a master's thesis carried out in the Postgraduate Program in Education (PPGE) of the Universidade Estadual do Centro-Oeste (UNICENTRO), in Irati-PR, and aims to analyze the social relations established on the male and female bodies in the school context, mainly in Physical Education during the 1960s and 1970s in a school in Rio Azul-PR. For this, two focus groups were organized with female former students who studied in Rio Azul-PR during this period. It was verified how the issues involving body and gender were present in school institutions, based on the types of activities developed in Physical Education classes and on the clothes used by the students during this discipline. It was also verified that the Brazilian academic literature values ​​joint classes between boys and girls, but that they need to count on the teacher's support so that they do not reproduce possible conflicts between existing genders.
