Abstract

This article presents a reflection on game design and gamification from an andragogical perspective, analyzing its potential for the development of a contemporary andragogy. The applied methodology includes an analysis of publications on the subject between 2018 and 2020, observing the most used research contexts, types of games and theoretical references. Contexts of analysis include higher education, teachers’ training, corporate education and in service teachers education. As a result, some important factors in the adoption of games in adult learning are pointed out, as they provide opportunities for the use of cognitive skills with playful support, promoting memory recovery, decision-making and quick thinking, in addition to promoting social relationships through the creation of learning communities with common interests
